Fire guts Montgomery showroom, sends firefighter to hospital

A futon showroom and warehouse caught fire around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, causing an estimated $150,000 in damage. Officials said crews from four fire departments battled the blaze at Quality Sleep Shop, which resulted in one firefighter being taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center for injuries due to smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. Firefighters save young autistic girl

A small girl was rescued by Houston firefighters Sunday morning from a fire that gutted an eastside home. The 8-year-old girl was alive, but suffered from breathing problems, so she was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for observation. Read More »

Three-alarm fire in Harris County
May 19th, 2008Update: A teen has been arrested and charged with first-degree felony arson after confessing to setting a fire at Timber Run Apartments that killed one elderly resident and destroyed about 40 units.

Three injured, one missing in McKinney explosions

A construction crew working near the corner of Throckmorton and Fenet Street hit a gas line that caused a massive explosion. The explosion destroyed three homes and sent three people, two of which had second and third-degree burns over more than 50 percent of their bodies, to Dallas hospitals by helicopter. A fourth person has not been located and McKinney fire officials can’t search for them because of the gas leak. Read More »
