Money For Your Conveyance, Calculate Your Stimulus
Friday, March 21st, 2008Tax time is right around the corner, and as such we are all preparing to spend our big-ass returns; right? Yeah, I have to pay this year (also). Not as much as Fookie (I Win Again!), but still, I hate paying the government when they have proven to be such mischievous spenders. And to think, Republicans would have me believe that it is my sandal wearin’ hippie freak Demo friends that are taking all my hard earned greenbacks to give to the poor. It’s probably Hillary’s fault, or that Obama Bin Laden dude.
This is not, repeat not, a political post, simply another in the long line of ‘hey check this out’. So, check this out !
Be our often pointless political opinions as they may, there at least are several things out there that we can all agree on, like how affordable gas is right now 
My Mile Marker is a nifty little site that allows you to track your gas mileage and see how much that vehicular indulgence of yours actually gets to the gallon. I think the site is one for patient people with good memories (or at least constant sms text reminders). It will take you a few fill-ups, and therefore a couple of months, to really see the benefit of the information this site delivers. It is actually painful (we all feel it) every time we hit the pump, so this at least gives me a little relief and puts me in a mind frame that tracks information, rather than worrying over and over on the idea that gas prices might just make me have to get a 4th job. That wasn’t a joke.
After getting a handle on your gas, check out your stimulus (if you get one). Remember always that President Bush has assured us that $600.00 against the devaluation of your property is called a ’stimulus’, not ‘ridiculous’. Similar sounding, completely not the same thing; turns out. If you do get one, J.D. over at Get Rich Slowly has a neat article helping you calculate your economic stimulus tax rebate. You will need some information from your tax forms, so have them handy there wit’ cha.

Well, in about a week, I am going to further reduce my gas bill by getting and riding a bicycle to work. Will also help get me in shape too!!

At least you live close to some of these stores! Hey this is a cool site like that other one…you can log in and have your own set up, fav stores, send in prices you see driving home etc…even chart your mph.
