Fire Destroys Huntsville Mexican Restaurant

A Mexican food restaurant in Huntsville is considered a total loss after a fire late Tuesday night. Firefighters were dispatched to the Rodeo Mexican Restaurant on Highway 75 around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Several fire departments from the surrounding Walker County area responded to the call. By 2 o’clock Wednesday morning, they had the fire put out.

According to officials with Huntsville Fire Department, the restaurant is being considered a total loss. No one was injured in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.

Rodeo Mexican Restaurant on Highway 75 North is fully engulfed in flames. The fire was called in to emergency dispatchers around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters used saws to cut into the building to allow water from the city’s ladder truck to reach the fire. Huntsville Fire Department, Huntsville Police Department, Walker County Emergency Medical Services, Pine Prairie Volunteer Fire Department, Riverside Volunteer Fire Department, New Waverly Volunteer Fire Department and Crabbs Prairie Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
