No one was injured in a house fire that was reported late Monday afternoon, officials from the Abilene Fire Department reported. Just after 5 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a call in the 2500 block of Glenwood Drive and discovered smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters said the fire, which was initially called in as a grease fire, originated in the kitchen area.
The fire spread to the attic and fire crews responded quickly to knock it out before it could spread further, officials from the AFD reported.
The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes.
