From KHOU News, Houston
HFD investigators are looking for a man they’re calling a person of interest in a series of arson fires in the Heights. Eluid Tristan Limon, 30, is wanted for burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony. Arson investigators say he is responsible for a break-in at a home on Ashland, and they want to question him about the Heights fires.

Investigators have reason to believe Limon may flee to Mexico, but they said he has strong ties to the Houston and Bryan/College Station areas.

Anyone with information on Limon’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

The HFD Arson Division has been working with the Houston Police Department and the ATF for months to solve the Heights arson case.

There have been 22 fires set in and around the historic Houston neighborhood since August.

Authorities arrested and charged a suspect for starting one of the fires in November, but he hasn’t been charged in any of the other arsons, and the fires continued after he was taken into custody.

11 News interviewed Limon at the scene of one of the fires back in October.

Limon was one of three men who escaped a blaze in a garage apartment on Ashland.

Limon said after the fire started, he woke up his two roommates and they all ran down a narrow staircase to safety.

“It sounded like a firecracker,” Limon told 11 News. “It was very scary.”

Limon also told 11 News he and his roommates were in the process of moving because of the rash of fires, which at that point numbered 12.
