Fire strikes Two George’s restaurant overnight

A two-alarm fire damaged Two George’s Restaurant early Wednesday, according to Corpus Christi fire officials. Corpus Christi firefighters were dispatched at 1:49 a.m. to find heavy smoke at the shopping center in the 5800 block of Everhart Road. Firefighters on the scene believe the fire started in the kitchen area of Two George’s, which received fire damage. Firefighters were able to control the fire about 2 a.m.

Other stores in the shopping center also received smoke damage, according to fire officials.

It is not known at this time when Two George’s will be able to re-open. Fire officials will continue to investigate what started the fire.
