Fire destroys 6 NW Harris apartment units

A fire raced through an apartment complex in northern Harris County on Friday afternoon.
Firefighting efforts at the London Park Apartments were delayed because the closest hydrant was not working properly, forcing firefighters to run several hundred feet of hose to another hydrant down the road from the complex in the 14500 block of Bammel North Houston.

Six units were destroyed. No injuries were reported, and officials said the cause was under investigation.
