Borger firefighters spent Tuesday afternoon battling a grass fire fueled by winds of more than 25 mph. Firefighters said they responded to the 104-acre fire about 3:40 p.m. near Spring Creek Road and Highway 280. Firefighters from six departments responded to the blaze, which was under control by 6 p.m.

The fire briefly threatened a structure that had been destroyed by wildfires that swept through the same area in March 2006. The cause of the fire was under investigation Tuesday night.
