Tejas Cafe and Bar will reopen later Thursday after electrical fire shortly after midnight.
Firefighters arrived on the scene of Locust and Navarro streets to find a small fire located on the outside, said Shannon Martin, Victoria Fire Department battalion chief commander. Two engines and a ladder were called to the scene at 12:20 a.m.

Martin said fire investigator found the cause to be the outdoor Christmas lights. The fire was contained to the outside. Parts which were burned were cut out, Martin said.

“We’re lucky it was contained to the outside,” said Bryan Horadam, owner.

Electricity and gas were cut off to the business and Locust street was closed while the fire was contained.

“The top part will just be burned, but we’ll be opened,” Horadam said.
