Fire Destroys Magnolia Home

Thanksgiving was a tragic day for one family. They lost their home to a fire, KPRC Local 2 reported. Instead of having a big feast, the Terra family sifted through the rubble of what was once their home in the Ascot Farm subdivision in Magnolia.

“We have an alarm system and the fire … it alerted us,” Alfred Terra, Jr. said. “I immediately got up from the noise, ran downstairs and my parents were coming out of their bedroom. I noticed fire coming from around the chimney.”

Terra tried to fight the fire, but the house was engulfed in flames within a few minutes. Firefighters from Magnolia and seven surrounding cities battled the blaze.

“It was pretty fast,” he said.

The stress of the fire forced Terra’s father to go to the hospital when his heart condition intensified.

The family is grateful they made it out alive.

“We’re just going to have to pick up the pieces and put it back together again.”
