Barn Destroyed by Fire on County Road 1141

A barn was destroyed after a fire broke out tonight on County Road 1141, just north of State Highway 31 West. Capt. Matt York, with the Dixie Volunteer Fire Department, said firefighters responded to the scene about 8 p.m. and found a fully involved structure.

The fire was contained to the building and was under control within 10 minutes, he said. The barn, which was believed to have chickens in it, ended up being a total loss. No injuries were reported.

Officials say they do not know exactly what started the fire, but an investigation is ongoing.
