Fort Worth fire investigators will be looking for the cause of a Wednesday night’s massive warehouse fire near the Stockyards. The building — near Main Street and Northwest 23rd — was fully engulfed in flames when the first units arrived around 9:15 p.m. Firefighters were forced to go into defensive mode for their own safety.

Several aerial trucks poured water on the fire. The empty building was destroyed.
No one was hurt.

A roof has collapsed in the aftermath of a 2-alarm fire at an old abandoned building in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Fort Worth fire department spokesman Lt. Kent Worley says no one was injured. The fire was reported around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Worley says the “entire roof has come down.” Television footage showed flames leaping all over the building. Worley says firefighters worked from outside the building and got the fire out.
