An Odessa family is trying to pick up the pieces after a fire destroyed their home Saturday night in West Odessa. The family was not at home at the time of the blaze, but returned a short time later to find everything they owned destroyed.

The fire started about 8 pm. at the corner of N. Moss & Hoffman Dr.The family recently moved to Odessa from Muleshoe, and said the Red Cross is helping them out.
They talked to CBS 7 about what happens next for them.

Juan Diaz told us:”Try to find another place to stay. Find another house to rent. Hopefully the landlord here, because I paid the rent yesterday, hopefully he will give us out rent back or deposit. Hopefully we can find somewhere else to go and stay. Try to find furniture and start off again.”

The family is being helped by the Red Cross, but can use any help to get back on their feet. If you want to donate any items to the family, contact the Red Cross.
