Cameron FD fights house fire

Flames were shooting into the air as firefighters arrived on the scene of a house fire around 8:00 Wednesday.

The family had just left to take the children to school when the fire was first reported around 7:44 a.m.

Firefighters say the small, wood frame house in the 1400 block of W. 10th Street suffered heavy damage throughout. “It will probably be a total loss,” the Cameron Fire Chief said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There were no reports of injuries.
