Grass fires burn around Harlingen area

Fire crews from San Benito, La Feria and Harlingen were kept busy on Tuesday night with several grass fires in the Harlingen area.

The fires started late in the afternoon, one located at 4770 Hackberry Road, another at 1656 Sam Houston and the last one, which was the biggest, on Rangerville Road. Streets had to be closed off by police as fire crews made their way to a mobile home at the Rangerville fire. Fire crews were able to put out all three fires within an hour and no injuries were reported.
