Early-morning fire in south Fort Worth

Four people escaped early Friday from a southside house fire that firefighters said may have been caused by an electrical short. The fire was reported about 2 a.m. in the 600 block of East Davis, near the intersection with Interstate 35W.

Total damage was estimated at $105,000, firefighters said. Red Cross officials came to the scene to help the family. No other information was available at 8 a.m.
