Seven fire departments were called in to battle a house fire Monday morning in Hillsboro.
Firefighters say they had a tough time battling the heat and the blaze while on scene of the burning home in the 400 block of East Elm Street.

Five firefighters had to get medical attention after being overcome by the heat.

The heaviest damage was done to the rear of the house. Firefighters say three dogs died in the fire.
