Channelview home fire believed to be arson

The Channelview Fire Department responded to a fire around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, finding heavy smoke and fire shooting from a mobile home. Firefighters made a swift attack on the blaze and managed to get the fire knocked down before it consumed the whole home.

The inside of the home was completely burned, but didn’t break through the roof or outside walls. The homeowners were gone for the night so no one was harmed in the fire.

Arson is investigating the cause of the fire and was told of a possible suspect. The owners told investigators that someone threatened to take a TV from their mobile home on Saturday. Investigators confirmed that the TV set was missing from the house upon entry.
