Firefighters were able to extinguish a house fire in Vidor Tuesday evening.
Firefighters with the Orange County Emergency Services District No. 1 were called to the house in the 300 block of South Dewitt about 6 p.m., according to a dispatcher with the department.

Captain Jerry Aldridge estimated that 45 percent of the structure was lost to heat, water and smoke damage. Firefighters from the district as well as Mauriceville were on scene for about three hours.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured in the blaze.
