Firefighters rescued a maintenance employee who fell into a cooling tower on Wednesday while he worked on the roof of Medical Center Arlington, officials said.
The worker seriously injured himself during the fall, said Battalion Chief David Stapp.

Emergency medical personnel treated the worker while he was on the roof of the hospital before lowering him to the ground, Stapp said.

Firefighters used a ladder truck as though it was a crane to lower the worker to the ground once he was secured in an attached basket.

The worker was taken to the emergency room at Medical Center Arlington, in the 3000 block of Matlock Road just north of Interstate 20. The worker’s name and condition were unavailable late Wednesday
