Waco city transit van destroyed by fire

Three people escaped as a Waco Transit van was completely destroyed by fire around 4:00 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Richland and Edmond near Wooded Acres. Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly, knocking down the flames, but not before area blocks were covered with thick smoke.

Kerr appoints assistant fire chiefs
