Reported by News 8 Austin A 100-plus acre brush fire is burning in Bastrop County near the Lost Pines Hyatt resort. The fire is on the northbound side of State Highway 71, east of the resort. The fire is heading Northwest, toward the resort. It was 50 percent contained as of 7pm Saturday evening.

By Dan Packard, The Amarillo Globe-News Fire damaged a one-story residence Friday night. Amarillo Fire Department District Chief Mike Campbell said a resident of the home at 205 S. Maryland St. returned home to see flames shooting from the back of the house.

Reported by KTBC, Dallas Dallas firefighters found the body of a man at a desk inside a duplex Friday morning. Investigators have not released the man’s name nor do they know if the fire is to blame for his death.

A futon showroom and warehouse caught fire around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, causing an estimated $150,000 in damage. Officials said crews from four fire departments battled the blaze at Quality Sleep Shop, which resulted in one firefighter being taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center for injuries due to smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. Reported by Joel Thomas, KTBC Fort Worth, Dallas After almost 19 hours a steel recycling plant in Midlothian continued to burn Tuesday. The fire encompassed more than three acres at the Gerdau Ameristeel Plant.
