Cause Of Port Arthur Apartment Fire Still ‘Undetermined’

Fire investigators in Port Arthur said the cause of a fire Saturday at an apartment complex will be listed as undetermined. Click here for video /

However, Deputy Chief John Avery said investigators suspect it was an unattended candle in the apartment that started the fire.

There were a number of candle holders in the vicinity of the fire.

It damaged ten units at the Lakeview Apartments in the 4800 block of 7th street.

As a result of the fire, 50 residents are finding somewhere else to stay until the damage is repaired.
